The 25'-26' Lakers

The 25'-26' Laker squad so far has had a intresting season. As we reach the "All Star" break, the team us currently 31-21 which leaves them as the 6th seed. With the aquirment of Luka Doncic in the middle of last season, the Lakers front office were expected to make moves to improve the team. In the offseason they signed Jake Lavaria at power foward, Deandre Ayton at center and Marcus Smart at point guard. While these signings didnt answer the Lakers biggest concerns, it did add a very much needed depth to the roster.

They started off the season against the warriors where they lost, this was due to the lack of defense the Lakers much needed. Through out the season we see the lakers struggle against teams who are defensivly good. While the lakers have great offense led by their big 3 of Luka, LeBron, And Reaves, their defense and lack of bench leads to loses. Players such as Austin Reaves, Jaxson Haynes, and Jarred Vanderbilt have taken a huge leap this new season. More specificly Reaves who now avrages 26 points a game and has shown he can lead this team without LeBron and Luka. Lakers were favorites to make moves this trade deadline but were only able to move Gabe Vincent and a second roud pick for Luke Kennard whos a sharp shooter the lakers needed. With this the lakers go into the second half of the season with a shaky foundation and many questions left to be answerd but with their great offense, could make a deep playoff run.
